Operations support structures |
| Explosive Object Disposal (EOD) teams Two EOD teams are presently employed in the programme to conduct bulk demolition of mines and UXO in cooperation with civil protection and local authorities. These teams also have the task of destroying or removing any mines or UXO located on the mine clearance tasks. Each team consists of two personnel trained on explosive disposal and to EU standards on the transportation of hazardous cargo. Both teams operate independently and always have medical cover while conducting operations and in just 2004 more than 1500 explosive objects (mines, detonators, fuses, uxo's) were destroyed. |
